The Artist Behind Lilindigotattoo

Taylor is a Winnipeg based tattoo artist specializing in blackwork florals, fauna, and fantasy inspired designs. With nearly a decade of experience in the industry, her work has become known for its striking style, bold symbolism, and imaginative approach to nature.

She began her tattooing journey in Toronto, Ontario, apprenticing under Cysen at Golden Iron. The fast paced street shop environment taught her invaluable skills and laid the foundation for the artist she would become. Today, the majority of her appointments are dedicated to her pre drawn flash, allowing her to create pieces inspired by the subjects she loves most.

In February 2026, her dreams took physical form with the opening of Lil Indigo Tattoo, a private studio in Winnipeg. Opening her own space felt like a natural progression in her career and gave Taylor the opportunity to build an environment that truly feels like her, creative, welcoming, and designed with client comfort in mind.

That same year, Taylor was named a 2026 Canadian Choice Award winner in the Body Artist category for Winnipeg, recognizing Taylor's work and the community she has built throughout her career.

In May 2026, she travelled to France after being awarded an artist residency grant at Château d'Orquevaux. The residency gave her the opportunity to dedicate time to creating fine art, culminating in Places I Would Rather Be, a collection of original paintings exploring whimsical escapism.

Outside the studio, Taylor shares pieces of life as a working artist, business owner, and Winnipeg local through social media. Whether she's sharing a new tattoo, the realities of running a creative business, travelling somewhere new, or exploring her hometown, that openness has become an extension of Lil Indigo itself.

Through it all, the goal has remained simple: to make beautiful art and create a space where people feel genuinely cared for while receiving it.

Mentorship with @lilindigotattoo

Real talk. Practical help. Honest insight into the tattoo industry (the good, the bad, and the ugly) I can help.

This is NOT an apprenticeship.

This is mentorship. 1:1 guidance, feedback, and insight from my lived experience in the tattoo industry. I do not teach the technical skill of tattooing (needle depth, machine setup, etc.), nor am I taking on an apprentice at this time.

Mentorship is a one-time or occasional meeting meant to support you with:

  • Portfolio feedback

  • Career and branding advice

  • Navigating the industry realistically and sustainably

(If you're looking for an apprenticeship, I recommend connecting with studios that are offering that.)
